Combatants ranged from early twenties to their mid fifties and we were thankful to have the Patriarch James LaFond out once again.

James and friends show you how to make a double ended bag with a few simple elements:
1. A roll of premium paper towels
2. An old shirt
3. A roll of Gorilla Tape
4. Three double hooked bungee cords of varying lengths
5. An old clothesline
6. An iron plate
Wrap the paper towel in the shirt and cover with tape as shown. Use one bungee cord wrapped in clothesline as the core of the bag.
Use two more bungee cords, one to hang the bag to a ceiling joist and one to anchor it to an iron plate set on the floor.
Use more tape to secure the hooks and joints.

My second amateur mma fight took place on November 10th. In this fight we expected a wrestler but instead he tried to kick box with me. This cell video doesn't show how hard some of the shots he landed were and how hard my leg kicks were. It was a good fight that I won all 3 rounds for a score of 30-27.

In this long knife and hatchet duel the Viking showcases his improved triangular footwork against the fast hands of Erique. Both men had been fighting for nearly an hour so this was one of their last sets.

In this video there is a lot to take away. The Paladin(in blue) keeps his rear hand low instead of guarding his face but has quick feet and reaction time. Erique has faster hands but less mobility on the feet. Each fighter scored points and showcased their skills in their first ever steel duel.

Long hidden video has surfaced of an Agon (contest) from years ago.
An idea was hatched that these men would fight but with a twist: their level of alcohol content would increase depending on the amount of time they had been training.
James being the longest was completely inebriated, Charles was severally inebriated and Erique was entirely sober.

SuperJim wanted it, so he gets it: knife vs stick. Keep in mind, the stick-bearer can realistically only win by KO'ing his opponent with a strike to the head, or destroying/disarming the weapon hand. Not an easy feat, especially if the knifer wants blood and rushes.

In a break from my usual predictability, I attempt to incite Josh into closing with me by talking some serious trash. I end up getting much more than I bargained for, and ended up punching him in the face—an illegal technique in the rules of this competition.
Josh is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, a great competitor, and has just the right mix of natural athleticism, talent, and sheer physical toughness to one day be a world class stickfighter. Knowing this, my no-talent self tried to bring the beast out of him, and instead I got a fight I couldn't win without breaking rules. That was hugely dishonorable on my part, and I apologize.
